William is a full time performer living in Tropical North Queensland.

Before founding Deceptive Strategies, William previously served in two branches of the military, lived in the Mediterranean working aboard super-yachts, mentored young men at an elite private school and even became a sworn police officer. These unique experiences have given him a rare and signature edge of high performance and professional excellence in the world of Australian close-up magic.

William draws the inspiration for his work from historical conjurers, card cheats and psychological illusionists. He is also a historian of the conjuring arts and takes deep pride in his personal library of both modern and vintage magic literature.

He is constantly refining and researching his methods, techniques and knowledge.

Deceptive Strategies is the continuation of a lifelong personal philosophy centred around the pursuit of mastery.
